We are here, in IL! ...and we have a new house!

Quick update:
After the 2 week stay at my parent's house in Wausau, we have now set up camp at Marcy's place in Lake Barrington, IL (we will have been here almost a week). All I can say is that we are so fortunate to have such wonderful, and understanding parents.

Our final walk-throughs (yes, there were two) were interesting to say the least. The first time, the house was an absolute disaster. It seriously looked like a tornado went through it. We were not entirely surprised, since the house had looked very messy during our showings too. - The girl renting the place was a major slob (picture this, she lived in the house for almost a year and NEVER cleaned a thing, not a toilet, counter top, sink, floor, nothing... plus her things were everywhere)! The next night was our 2nd walk-through, and it was a miracle, the place was clutter free, not clean, but clutter free! It was so nice to actually SEE the house we were about to purchase; looked bigger and nicer than we imagined! There was one minor issue, a huge crack in the glass cook-top of our new stove. We immediately called our attorney and settled things - luckily it was still under warranty. We were feeling very good about going to the closing the next day.

The closing was on Friday, it lasted a long 3 hours (until 6pm), but we walked out home owners - we were relieved and exhausted. So exhausted that we never made it to our new house that day.

We went to our new house the next day, Saturday, it felt surreal. We had the old carpet (which was trashed, even though it was only a year or two old) taken away and the new carpet installed. The place was looking better already. Sunday, (today) Jonathan gutted the 1/2 bath and we did some surface cleaning, plus, we bought a couch for our family room. Tomorrow, the movers will bring all of our stuff and a cleaning service will come to scrub away all of the filth. We plan on staying there tomorrow night, and we are looking forward to our first night in our new house (and Marcy won't know what to do in the quietude!)

So that's that. We are still trying to comprehend this whole thing...between having a new home and the big Jay Cutler trade, we are beyond excited to be living here!

Here she is in her Bunny bunting, before we all went out for a family walk.

Elle loves to clean!
I have a lot more pictures that I will have to post from my camera (from our stay at my parent's house)...the above pics are from the last couple of days at Marcy's place.
