Bath time and more cuddling

Another fort! Jonathan and Elle hung out in "the longest tunnel fort" ever for over a half an hour playing! There's Elle all the way at the end with her flashlight!

Grandma Marcy and Nolan cuddling.

I had to put this one on here too, check out Nolan's face!

Sue Matta (Jonathan's step-grandma) came by to check out our little man.
A big stretch for the little brother! Stretching, eating, and sleeping are his favorite things!

Hanging out on his changing table looking at some blocks.

Nolan's 1st Bath. He was asleep for most of it and never made a peep!Wrapped up and drying off - still sleeping
Dried off and hair styled, ready for his day.

A 4 generation picture!
G.G. and Nolan!
Ellison loves to have books read to her, especially while on the toilet. This time Nolan got in on the action!

Quick Nolan James update:
Nolan had been going to the doctor very frequently since he had been born to keep an eye on his weight/jaundice (they were kind of tied together - if he put on weight, his jaundice would subside). His weight was holding at 6 lbs 9 oz for a while, but then on Saturday (at 10 days old) his weight shot up to a whopping 6 lbs 13 oz! Also, his jaundice was looking better. So after 6 days on the the "light" he was free! Also, we wouldn't have to wake him to feed him every 2-3 hours, now we can stretch it to 4 (but still feed him him anytime after 2 hours if he wants to eat). We go back on Thursday for his 2 weeks appointment!

More Nolan

The following 3 pics are from this morning... Nolan is 1 week old today!

-I think Nolan looks just like his daddy.

Nolan Update:
Nolan has jaundice, so he needs to be on a special light. This light along with being fed every 2-3 hours, peeing and pooping frequently, and gaining weight, will help the jaundice go away. Jaundice is common in "late pre-term" babies (babies under 37 weeks) and should not be an issue as long as the above steps are taken. We have been diligent with keeping him on the light and pretty much only take him away from it during feedings and diaper changes. This is really hard because all we want to do is cuddle him.
Nolan is now 6 lbs 9.5oz (it had dipped down to 6 lbs 8 oz), his discharge weight was 6 lbs 10 oz. So, hopefully his weight is on the rise with his frequent feedings. He NEVER cries only whimpers or makes little grunting sounds when he is hungry and pretty much sleeps all of the time. We don't know if this is because he is still so new, or because he is lethargic from the jaundice, or if he is just a dream baby (we are not really used to a quiet baby who sleeps a lot since Elle was a spit fire ever since she was born and did her share of crying and was not a very good sleeper). No matter what the reason, we love him so much and have cherished him every second since the day he was born.
Nolan spending some awake time looking at his book (while on the light - see the blue light glowing under him)

Natural sunlight helps with jaundice too, so he is getting a double dose of treatment with the light underneath him.

Our amazing friend's Katie, Erik, and Danielle Zeliasz watched Elle the evening Nolan was born. Elle had such a great time with her friend Danielle at her first ever sleep over! Here are some pictures from Katie to show all the fun Elle had while her new brother was on his way!
